Holi 2025: A Colorful Celebration at My Hometown, Patna!

Hey! Guys, I am Neetu, Today I am sharing my experience of Holi celebration at my hometown, Holi – the festival of colors, joy, and of course, delicious food! This year, I was more excited than ever to celebrate Holi at my hometown Patna, with my family members. From the beginning of March, my heart was set on going home, enjoying my mom’s special Holi food, and enjoying the festival vibes. And finally, the journey began!

The Exciting Journey to Home

As a journalism student at Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT), Noida, life is always on the go you have to do a lot of things mostly when you are leaving on your own and away from home. But Holi is that one festival where home is the only thing that comes in my mind for the celebration and most important with my family. So, I booked my train ticket from New Delhi to Patna for March 10th with tasty and trending thoughts of colors and Gujiya.

Well, Indian Railways had a different plan for me! πŸ˜… What was supposed to be a 18-hour journey turned into a 25-hour adventure, thanks to a 7-hour delay (Indian Railways never disappoints in keeping us on our toes, right?). The journey was long, tiring, and filled with train breaks 😐 , but the thought of reaching home kept me going. Finally, on March 11, I reached my hometown! The very first thing I did after stepping home? Booked my return ticket. And this time, I played it safe – flight ticket for March 20! Lesson learned. πŸ˜†

Getting Ready for the Big Day

Today is March 12, was dedicated to family. I had to bring my younger brother back from his boarding school, so I left home at 12:00 PM. After reaching to school in 1 hour and completing some formalities, we were finally home together – ready to create Holi memories!

The next day, March 13, was all about Holi shopping – colors, balloons, and all the important things for the Holi festival. The excitement was real! After shopping all the required items, me and my brother slept that night early because we had to be up fresh and energetic for the Holi celebration!

And finally, the day arrived! πŸŒˆπŸ’ƒ

The morning began with me and my brother waking up early, eagerly getting ready for the fun ahead. Meanwhile, my mom was already in full Milkha Singh Mode, preparing mouth-watering dishes like Pakodi, Pua, Paneer Ki Sabzi, and, of course, the star of Holi – Gujiya! (because what is Holi without Gujiya, right?)

By 11 AM, everything was set – the colors, the music, and the delicious food waiting for us post-celebration. Outside, the DJ was playing Holi beats, and the entire neighborhood was in full Holi mode! We danced our hearts out, played with colors, threw water balloons (sorry, neighbors! 😜), and completely enjoying the festival vibes.

This was undoubtedly one of my best Holi celebrations ever! Being with family, enjoying amazing food, and just soaking in the joy of the festival made it extra special.

Final Thoughts

Holi is not just about colors; it’s about togetherness, laughter, and creating unforgettable memories. Celebrating it in Patna, surrounded by family, made it 10 times more special. And of course, the food took everything to another level (mom’s cooking = pure magic). πŸ₯°
